I got a really great card from Natalie today. I would like to transcribe the text of the card. She had written inside the front and this is what it said:
Dave,
As I sit down to write this I'm not quits sure what I want to say. So many thoughts race around in my mind when I think of "us." I do know that the more time I spend with you the more I realize what a great guy you are. I wasn't sure how I felt about all of this at first, but each day I can't help but realize how wonderful it is to be around you. Thank you so much for "laying your life on the line" to ask me out the first time. Who knows where we'd be now if you hadn't. You take such good care of me and treat me like a queen. I really enjoy spending time with you- you make me smile. You know that couple said the other night, "Don't mess with a woman's heart unless you're sure you want it."-are you sure?!? Thank you for all that you are-you're very special. Just thought I'd let you know!
I thought that was a great card. It really made my day. I kind of want to compose some sort of letter to her. The only problem I have is that when Kim and I went out years ago, that was the only way we communicated. I don't want to start that kind of communication, but I suppose one letter is not going to be a problem. I bought a card for Valentine's Day and I don't know if I should wait until then. Speaking of Valentine's Day, we are thinking about going to the rodeo on the 13th. I hope I won't have to work. If so, maybe someone will work for me. That day will commemorate the third month since our first date.
I need to do my state taxes this evening. I don't think it will be too hard. Maybe I'll get some money back. That would be nice. Actually, I just did my taxes. I took about a fifteen minute break from writing and did them. I will be getting $44.00. I might get the money in time for my trip home at Easter. All told, I'll get just under $250 from Federal and state returns. I hope they come soon. Well, this completes the thirtieth page of this journal. It has taken just under five years to get this many pages.
